Your parent(s) require detailed plans and budgets, and have ultimate veto authority because they have to sign the checks for each your purchases. You have a time table of two weeks from the close of escrow on the house to complete all work before your family moves in.
There will be an instructor-guided web-searches on day 2 to demonstrate how and where various information can be found.

For this project you will be teamed with another student of your choice from class. You and your partner need to select a team name and keep a design notebook of the entire project. The design notebook will include the following:
The design notebook will be provided by the teacher, each page has to be numbered before the project begins to ensure all of your work can be seen.
The room will be 11' X 12', it has to have two windows and one door. Your team will decide where the windows and door will go, but once your room layout has been approved by your parent (teacher) you are committed to this design.
Don't be affraid to put your wildest ideas down in the notebook, just ensure that all of your internet research including URL's of individual websites are documented. If you do offline research such as newspaper ads, document what paper you found the information in, the date it published and the page of the advertisment. If you are calling a store directly, document the day you called and who you spoke to.
Your team will establish a spending plan. The plan will list your assets and expenses. You and your partner will create letters to contractors to propose the time and cost of labor to be performed, and a detailed listing of sources for costs of items listed in their spending plan.
Your team will establish a project budget: Your team will organize labor costs and material expenditures into a budget plan. The budget will be in spreadsheet form with a timetable of events during their two week window.
