Guidelines

 

Layout

When your team draws up the plans for your room the following guidelines must be met:

  1. The room measures 11' by 12'.
  2. There is one standard door.
  3. There is a small fixed window.
  4. There is a large double sliding window.
  5. The is a sliding double door closet.
  6. There is an attached bathroom.

Note: Room layout plans must be approved by the teacher before your proceed.

Initial Conditions

When you start the remodel of your room the following conditions exist:

  1. There are four large holes in the walls that need to be patched prior to painting.
  2. The walls have to be repainted.
  3. One of the panes in the double sliding window is cracked, you can replace just the broken pane or the entire window.
  4. The doorknob is broken and has to be replaced.
  5. The closet doors are broken and have to be replaced.
  6. The carpet is stained and torn, and must be removed prior to painting and replaced after painting is completed.

Final Conditions

When your project is completed you will show on your approved room layout where furnishings inside your room will be placed. You must include the following:

  1. A bed, this can include a twin, double or queen size bed, or a convertible sofa bed or a futon.
  2. New bed linens and towels for your bathroom.
  3. A chest of drawers or dresser.
  4. Desk.
  5. At least one lamp.
  6. Optional items include:
    1. Television
    2. Stereo
    3. Computer
    4. Games
